The “new” strips are back in the Foobiverse, and they finally are touching on all the fun and excitment of a wedding!

I just want to know why Liz, “Miss Hair-in-a-Bun 24/7” has her hair DOWN while Dee is working on cannibalizing raping mangling updating her grandmother’s wedding dress. This is the one time that her hair should be tucked up and away so poor, stupid, “if I do a really, really good job, maybe Elly will like me” Dee has half a chance of not having to cope with hair and pins and crap. I guess it’s to show off how well the Creatrix can draw an attractive and graceful human figure.

Of course, big noses are funny, so look quick, kids! It’s back to bulbous beezers and gargantuan asses tomorrow!

(If you didn’t see the original on 6 July, it was an awesome deluge of treacle.)

…and not in an “Indiana Jones telling Belloq that his comments about their being kindred spirits” way. This was a whole Sunday spread (ahem). I only altered the last panel (okay, the title, too). It wasn’t much less creepy before I “fixed it.”

Yeah. ewwww

Messing around with CC’s Uncle Lumpy’s “drop in” dialog worked pretty well on its second attempt:

And then crapped out on the third and final attempt (no thanks to some people, even if they are merely two-dimensional):

Let’s see, Dee is helping Elizabeth alter her grandmother’s wedding gown, and from the looks of it, it’s a damned good thing Liz modeled it for Grandpa Jim — once Dee is through with it, the poor old fart will probably think that Liz decided to wear one of her grandmother’s lace tablecloths. So much for keeping traditions intact.

Oh, and even without my help, Dee has been doing a magnificent “Welcome to Hell Marriage” campaign for Liz. The Romance never stops in Foobland.

This was a toughie, but when Rayne Summers, the central character in the webcomic Least I Can Do, rhapsodizes about vagoos (yes, it’s what you think it is), and the CC jokes about Liz Patterson’s golden hoo-hoo collide, Something Had To Be Done.

(I love LICD…great, great comic!)

In the ongoing FOOB wrangle, there’s a school of thought that the Creatrix is a good enough artist, but that her story-telling ability sucks Hurricane Katrina. CC’s Uncle Lumpy recently did a series of short dialogs using FOOB cast members and the theme of “buying a dishwasher.”

What stunned me is how effortlessly one slipped into a published strip.

…and it’s not complete without railing or screeching at something. Anything.

Maybe Little Wobin Cwap-pants can be your next “project.”

Okay, let’s see…

The Phantom and his wife are on an abandoned oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. While she showers, he fishes and catches a mess o’ fish. One of them is a “Golden Snapper.”

Which is kind of sophomorically-reminiscent of Liz and her “Golden Hoohoo.”

Aha, the link! Whew! I’m glad there’s some logic here…

Let’s see. First Liz Patterson goes ape-shit over getting an engagement ring and realizes the mystical and subversive powers it has over the noncommitted (i.e., Warren), and now Margo Magee is whining over the lack of her having something similar — yeah, like giving Margo a ring of ANY sort of power is a Good Idea.

teenchy from CC suggested that all of this “ring talk” might be an interesting mashup. Heck, just having Margo go after Liz is good enough for me!

Truman Fable, one of the regular snark-meisters over at CC, commented recently that it’s helpful for him to imagine Connie and Elly as lovers, that it makes the Foobiverse more endurable.

Dale Arden: “Will it make me forget?”
Hedonia, a Slave Girl: “No, but it will make you not mind remembering.”

Yeah, it’s kinda like that.
