Rex’s new patient, an old stove-up rassler. Unfortunately the coot is passing himself off as nobility. This won’t sit well with some folks, I’m afraid.

This is coincidences week here in Morganville. Craziness upon craziness!

So it looks like Rex and June are going to try and patch things up with the old lovebirds Tildy and “Count Crushinski.” I did this one, only to get a few comments on why June looked so weird. Here’s a number of choices:
1. I had other things to do.
2. I lost interest when I tried mashing up the panel.
3. The current plot is close to Beyond Boring.
4. The new artist (and likely, the writer, too)…ditto on the boring.

Rex Morgan used to be just about my favorite strip to parody…I think those days are long gone.

Or, “Die, Luann! DIE!”

And while we’re on the subject of my own satisfaction, here’s My Candidate for the most Compassionate and Caring Physician Forever!

…and the strip might not improve. But you have to admit with all the medical drama, complex familial interactions et al., Rex is, way down deep, simply a…um, ah…simple man. Would we have it any other way?

So, the Morgans’ dubious relative has crashed at their house, watched their kids (sort of), got drunk (maybe), and passed out (definitely).
The fun never stops!!!
Of course, June sees the need to investigate, since Rex is pretty much worthless in matters like this.

June has reason to worry (and I’d start with her marrying Rex years ago)…

…Dr. Morgan is still doctoring! In a hospital and all! Whether the advice is good is another matter.

No, really, he does know these things!

At least we know that Rex has an excellent bedside manner; his patients are usually devoid of such things.

It’s birthin’ time! And Rex has conveniently disappeared!

…cheerfully devoid of Rex, or his wife, or his weird kids!

Days (all right, one day), Rex is still absent:

This has been a really boring adventure for Rex and the family, the usual scammers cheating the usual dupes. Ah, well, if Rex is going to be MIA, at least the story arc will be an abbreviated one.

I need to keep in mind that Good Things Come to those who wait.
Yeah, sure. Right. In the words of some vulture or other, “Patience, my ass. I’m gonna kill something.”

Wait, wait, wait! Is it even remotely possible that I may have acted too soon? That Rex Morgan’s own sweet Pluggeresque couple is headed down a dark and murky path?!??

Oh, heck. Maybe this geriatric couple isn’t malicious…just muddled and in need of a hug. Or something. Ew.

(For the record, my favorite mashable character in this strip is the good doctor himself. So…where’s the good doctor?!??)
