{"id":1223,"date":"2008-09-23T14:49:05","date_gmt":"2008-09-23T20:49:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/snarkitupfuzzball.nexiliscom.com\/?p=1223"},"modified":"2009-04-15T17:31:57","modified_gmt":"2009-04-15T23:31:57","slug":"the-purple-is-never-far-away","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/snarkitupfuzzball.nexiliscom.com\/?p=1223","title":{"rendered":"The purple is never far away&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;check out that car!<\/p>\n<p>There was some nattering about the relentless use of &#8220;Ghost-Who-Fill-in-the-Blank&#8221; and little yellow boxes in <em>The Phantom<\/em>, as if five or six words would bring a potential new reader up to speed.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know.\u00a0 I look at the strip (and yes, it is relevant that I look at the strip more often than read it) and I don&#8217;t care much one way or another.<\/p>\n<p>One of the good folks at CC brought up a strip that ran earlier this year, to demonstrate that Ghost-Who-Has-More-Money-Than-Common-Sense does actually show up from time to time out of spandex.\u00a0 At those times, he&#8217;s &#8220;Mr. Walker&#8221; (ooooh, quite the disguise).\u00a0 It looked like a good time to feature &#8220;Mr. Walker,&#8221; little yellow boxes, and dopey epithets.<\/p>\n<p>The car is still purple, though.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/snarkitupfuzzball.nexiliscom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/new-phantom.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1224\" title=\"new-phantom\" src=\"http:\/\/snarkitupfuzzball.nexiliscom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/new-phantom.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"685\" height=\"190\" srcset=\"https:\/\/snarkitupfuzzball.nexiliscom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/new-phantom.jpg 685w, https:\/\/snarkitupfuzzball.nexiliscom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/new-phantom-250x69.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 685px) 100vw, 685px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;check out that car!
