{"id":1327,"date":"2008-10-13T12:55:57","date_gmt":"2008-10-13T18:55:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/snarkitupfuzzball.nexiliscom.com\/?p=1327"},"modified":"2008-10-13T13:50:26","modified_gmt":"2008-10-13T19:50:26","slug":"1327","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/snarkitupfuzzball.nexiliscom.com\/?p=1327","title":{"rendered":"The hands of a surgeon, the soul of a flat-bodied marine creature&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apparently, the fellow who is the illustrator for <em>Rex Morgan<\/em> has had a long, incredibly cool history of drawing for Marvel comics &#8212; lots of superheroes and the like &#8212; in addition to doing a stint for the Sunday <em>Phantom<\/em> and now, <em>Rex Morgan<\/em>.\u00a0 Not that his dailies are bad, but on occasion, a characterization is captured with vitality and charm.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a panel from the 11 October 2008 <em>Rex Morgan,<\/em> with the two old farts Lenore and Tweaks railing at each other like teenagers (kind of like Amos and Edda in<em> 9 Chickweed Lane<\/em>), while Rex looks on, just a little less than mortified.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/snarkitupfuzzball.nexiliscom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/not-rex-ggm-original.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1329\" title=\"not-rex-ggm-original\" src=\"http:\/\/snarkitupfuzzball.nexiliscom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/not-rex-ggm-original.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"215\" height=\"245\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Beautiful drawing &#8212; the hand, the expression, everything.<\/p>\n<p>That being said, I have to mess with it a little.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/snarkitupfuzzball.nexiliscom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/not-rex-ggm.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1328\" title=\"not-rex-ggm\" src=\"http:\/\/snarkitupfuzzball.nexiliscom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/not-rex-ggm.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"152\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And then, I have to mess with it a lot.\u00a0 But FABULOUS work, Mr. Nolan!
