Nope, I&#8217;m not seeing it."},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">For three days in early November,\u00a0 the comic strip <em>Zits<\/em> decided to parody the comic strip <em>love is&#8230;<\/em> . Now, to my way of thinking, <em>Zits<\/em> isn&#8217;t that funny, and<em> love is&#8230;<\/em> has <strong>never<\/strong> been funny, but maybe a blend of the two would make the sum greater than its parts.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s called <em>heterosis<\/em>,\u00a0 or &#8220;hybrid vigor&#8221; in genetics and plant and animal breeding.<\/p>\n<p>Heterosis apparently does not exist in the comics world, although at least one newspaper in Illinois refused to run the second and third &#8220;love isn&#8217;t&#8230;&#8221; strips after getting complaints about the first one.\u00a0 (That&#8217;s pretty funny!)<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, maybe a<em> Zits <\/em>x<em> <\/em><em>love is&#8230;<\/em> cross just wasn&#8217;t the right mix. \u00a0 I hope Gregor Mendel would be pleased with this:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3358\" title=\"not-mw-221\" src=\"http:\/\/snarkitupfuzzball.nexiliscom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/not-mw-221.jpg\" alt=\"not-mw-221\" width=\"695\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/snarkitupfuzzball.nexiliscom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/not-mw-221.jpg 695w, https:\/\/snarkitupfuzzball.nexiliscom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/not-mw-221-250x71.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 695px) 100vw, 695px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For three days in early November,\u00a0 the comic strip Zits decided to parody the comic strip love is&#8230; .
