Comics Kingdom has ceased to function, Mary and all the ancillary characters in the strip are dead, and Moy reigns supreme!

This was actually a two-panel weekday strip that I only figured out how the mash the second (below) once I’d finished with the first (above):

The 40-day, 40-night storm continues, along with this interminable storyline. Hope yer likin’ it, kids!

And then Max runs off! with the open door, the lightning, the thunder…whoda thunk it?!??

I TOLD you to watch your step, Saul!

And just when you think your special little dog can do superhuman (or supercanine) things…

Saul and Eve continue their evening together. It goes on and on. And on and on. And on and on…

Eve continues her long story about her awful marriage to her awful husband Gary; could things get any worse?

I guess so! Gary shooting the dog was a real kerfuffle in toonland (read, a lot of people were really pissed off at Moy’s lack-of-storytelling abilities). At least she made up for it the next day, showing that the innocent were saved…

Yay! Back to the boredom that is a date with eve and Saul…

While their patient dogs wait patiently. Patiently. Patiently…
all the prove the point that animals are dumb.

Could all this pointless yammering herald the end of this pointless storyline?

Another eon of Saul and Eve going on walkies…how dangerous could it be?

Plenty dangerous, if you ask me. Saul offers solace. Within reason.

The wretched 20-year-long marriage of Eve finally comes out…and that her awful husband died (yeah, right).

But let’s live for today! And Eve starts out by inviting Saul and Greta over for dinner!

After dinner, Eve opens up a little more to Saul (poor Saul!).

And even more opening up…

Good lord….will the opening up never end?!??

What if dogs could talk?!???
Who cares? They’re at least as interesting as their geriatric owners…

Oh, just FINE! Saul is seeking out Mary Worth for advice…and you know it’s serious when he ditches Greta to go see Mary!

And even with decades from high school behind her, Mary remains an ardent cheerleader…

One of the cool folks at FB’s Readers of the Comcs Curmudgeon has introduced “Mary Worth Without Humans.” My humble offering: “Smoked Salmon Soliloquy”:

I finally placed the face (come on, you knew it rang a bell…)

Time for a fabulous Nethen’s hot dog treat…

Because “nethen” beats one (or two)…

Good lord…how long does it take to eat a hot dog?!??

And now for a little jaunt to Santa Royale’s premier mall, minus the pups. But it’s also kind of a surreal day…

This little episode just keeps getting weirder and weirder…

And how will Saul and Eve reconcile, following he misbegotten shopping excursion?

How excit…well, maybe not…

Still, there’s SO MUCH to plan for!

And because it’s HER COMIC, Mary happily interrupts to cogitate on the New Year as she prepares a fine dinner, no doubt for those who would more appreciate it…herself!

(And Ga-ga has a difference Rilke quotation, in case you were wondering.)

…when one of the Readers of the Comics Curmudgeon ask, “Wouldn’t it be nice (no, it wouldn’t) if the Jules ball (from the new abortion that is Mark Trail) rolled into Mary Worth and livened things up?” I don’t know if it’d liven things up, but I’m willing to give it a try.

And sort of a trip back to the ’70s, when Mary came to Santa Royale to manage Charterstone, and was apprised of all the “don’t”s of the place…like no pets, no children, and I suspect no one that failed the WASPy look, either…

And wasn’t it just a tad odd that Mark Trail 2.0 has a story about a fat man falling off a ship, never to be found again?

And isn’t it also a tad odd that Rusty has just the Best Scary Story to share with his little friends?

Tommy remembers who Mary Worth is! (Geeez, when even Tommy realized how lame spending time with Brandy is…)

Yes, big bag o’ Ravioli is a little out of Mary’s wheelhouse, so what else could it be?

Mary’s generosity blooms even more this time of year, with a offering of a big ol’ slab of holiday blueberry cobbler!

And then, all the good will goes south…

…and familiarity begins to breed contempt…

And then, the story never, ever ended…it just went on and on.

See? SEE??? I told you it never ended!!!

One could only hope, but it wouldn’t be much of a climax:

Like the previous “Madi searches for her feelings” plot (I think it was that one), this current plot is going on and on. Don’t believe me? How long do you need to be in a diner for a meal? Even if you have something to discuss with an ex-boyfriend, or whatever…

It looks like Brandy and Tommy are one again! I’d like to say “One and done,” but I doubt that I’ll be that lucky…

…then again, you never know!

And once again, Moy and Brigman appear to forget that Mary Worth is the title. and the main character. and why thy get paid for churning out this little stip. Time to remind them. Drawing the curtain on this current plot wouln’t hurt, either…

…that’s exactly what Tommy’s doing (whether or not Mary suggested it). And it’s paying off, too!

And movin’ on might be a good idea, too.

On and on and on and on….
