Snark It Up, FuzzBall!

It’s both! And it’s TOO DAMNED LONG!

The folks at The Comics Curmudgeon are fondly recalling much better B-movies about growing up in the 50s, young white punks, toe-tapping musicals, and toe-tapping musicals about young white punks growing up in the 50s.

Me? I think the people at Reader’s Digest Condensed Books get hold of this and give it a good shake.

Age? Senility? Or just captive in a community of nit-wits?

These stories of woe are beginning to sound all alike (and geez, I haven’t been reading this strip for that long!).

In two separate comics, we have employees in the food service industry who just can’t grasp the concept that talking with customers to the exclusion of other customers and duties is not a job priority.  I didn’t think this was rocket science.  Evidently I was wrong.

I have to admit, if I saw either of them as I walked into a restaurant, I might opt for another place to eat.

Mary continues to chat up Gina, who’s lost her mother and can’t find love and is accosted on a regular basis by lecherous old customers.  Rather than giving Mr. Sansabelt the Stink Eye, Mary’s seems somewhat more appraising of the situation, while Gina appears more than a little satisfied with his gratuity.  I think this is supposed to be subtle, or something…

Oooh, it looks like Mary is going to get her come-uppance…and it promises to be the Greatest Show on Earth!

…and she asked you for a glass of water.  Did she ask you for your life story?

I didn’t think so.

Still, Gina may prove to be Mary’s equal — we can only hope!

I think even Mary Worth is aware of the moribund pace of her life over the past few weeks…does putting off Jeff’s nth proposal of marriage really take that long?

Anyway, in no time flat, Mary has a waitress make a blubbering mess of herself, racing from the diner as quickly as her cushiony work-pumps will carry her!  See, Mary? Isn’t that a lot more fun?

And what can I say? When Mary’s inspired, I’m inspired!

Two solid weeks of Mary cock-blocking Jeff’s marriage proposal (or just cock-blocking him) was about 13 days too many for me.  I took action:
