Ah, the good old days of Mary Worth, when something happened, even if it was with skeevy, slimy Dr. Drew (Manwhore)! And if it wasn’t happening to him, it was happening to Dr. Jeff (Father of Manwhore)! And we all know that Mary’s got to be in the thick of things — it’s the Meddler’s Code!
The Divine O’Fogeyette was musing about where young Dr. Drew Corey (Manwhore) learned his seductive ways. Well, the acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree, and so a tip o’ the sombrero is due to the Divine One for the suggestion. Casanovalicious!!!
Dr. Drew: he must have some patients, with his hanging around the hospital, right? Then again, a white lab-coat can fool a lot of folks. And he still finds the time to have a meal out now and then.
I think this was Drew’s big mistake, introducing Vera and Dawn (then again, I think that there are only 20 people under the age of 50 in Santa Royale — they probably do run into each other on occasion, forced to pay full price for a movie, having to wait to eat out until the earlybird crowd leaves at 6 PM. Ah, the inconveniences one must endure when young!).
And what an entrance! Good looks, charm — it drips off of him (then again, it might just be the Brylcreem). Who could resist? That’s all right, ladies, there’s enough Dr. Drew for ALL of you! (Why does he emind me of that old 1960s board game, “Mystery Date”?)
You have to start snarking a serial somewhere, and these are the first attempts at doing it to Mary ‘n’ Drew ‘n’ Dawn ‘n’ Jeff ‘n’ Vera ‘n’ Bobby ‘n’ Marcia ‘n’… Whatever. I enlisted a couple of new tenants for a little bit of fun. I think fun might not be allowed at Charterstone, kind of like pets.
Manga is harder than it looks. And the results? People even dumber than they look…but I can always blame it on the hair. This was my first foray into the world of Mary Worth, and I think the take-home message was to stick to snarky comments and leave the art untouched.
I do manage to forget this on occasion.
Yum. If it’s not avoiding the stampede to the earlybird specials in Santa Royale, it’s having to deal with the flower of masculine youth residing there. Shoot me.
