I’m sorry. This is lame, even with Andy trying to give it a shot in the arm. The days following it have Rex chasing down a suspect in the MRSA-Mat Mystery, and even that isn’t all that exciting (they should’ve been tossing shopping carts around, like in Hot Fuzz (was that the movie?). Not enough skin, not that much action, although I will admit, there are some fine Rex faces; maybe they’ll make a future appearance.

And, by crikey, I’m getting Dr. Reed (aka, Count Morgu, Vampire, County Medical Examiner, and Life of the Party) back into this melee, by hook or by crook.

Eh. This is a pretty obvious mashup, aside from the facts that
(1) Look! Look! The plot is finally advancing!, and
(2) Rex looks so gosh-darned cute and muddled in Panel 3, and very, very determined. Think, Rex, think! See Rex think!
I usually don’t get into the “hey, that character looks like X!”. But gee whiz, if rent-a-cop #2 didn’t reveal himself to be Chris Griffin from Family Guy. (Well, there goes my four choices.) And where Chris goes, can a few of his devoted “fans” be far behind?
…I forgot Jacko! Anyway, a mask — always mysterious, always alluring…
…when there’s not enough Count Morgu. Or Andy Reed. Or one of the single solitary (albeit peripheral), interesting characters goes missing. Still, one has to forge through the deserted wasteland that is a high school closed due to a MRSA breakout…

I’m back from the Embattled Bride-to-be of the Damned, at least for the moment, and back to Rex ‘n’ June, love-birds, medical professionals, MRSA hunters (although June’s sense of humor seems to be stretched a wee bit thin lately).
Well, Andy’s off somewhere, leaving Rex and June to interact and natter about the MRSA issue. Again, too many possibilities for just one mash-up, so instead there are two, showcasing the many facets of Rex Morgan, M.D. (and you thought he was a two-dimensional character…au contraire!)
