It was a good year for seasonally-appropriate holiday greetings in the comics.  Even Mary Worth took a day off of her investigative sleuthing to serve Christmas dinner to her family as an imperiled missing child is about to be spirited away again by her kidnapper.

Really, Mary?

Really?

I would’ve expected you to be able to multi-task so much better than that.

Now that Mary is done obsessing over her stolen wallet and possible identity theft, she’s moved on to obsessing over missing children on posters.  Sure, things can be left just that way, with Mary merely moaning  “Think of the children!”, but I have a feeling, with Mary returning to The Diner to retrieve her forgotten sweater (but that’s another story), that there’s going to be a collision course with destiny, as the missing girl and her abductor are headed for the very same Diner!

Or not…

Well, sometimes you need to rely less on a nosy pensioner and more on a well-traveled, wilderness-experienced outdoorsman.

Or not…

America’s all-American nature writer (from America!) gets ready for that most American of holidays!

Even Mark.  Especially Mark…

And here’s to Bil Keane who passed away today at the fine old age of 89.  The Family Circus wasn’t my cup of tea or bowl of spizgetti, but kudos to a long and happy career!  He even came and talked to our summer school creative writing class way back in the 1960s!

RCMP acting strangely, Kelly Welly acting strangely, Rusty acting strangely, heck, even Mark acting strangely, as long as something is done about this wretched reunion between Gina the Waitress and her Skater Boi.  Go for it, Mark!

Love is… isn’t on my comics reading list.  But dang, if someone doesn’t mention it on the Comics Curmudgeon website (joshreads.com) that more often than not, I’ll go and look at it and just have to snark it.  Dang it.

The naked little chick gets around…not that anyone has a problem with that!

Oh, no! Could that fine, upstanding RCMP officer Sgt. McQueen be withholding information from Mark Trail? Who has no real need to know anything about bird-bands in the first place?

Well, it’s either that or he’s just a plain ol’ serial killer…

Nah, that can’t be the case.  I’m sure there’s a legitimate reason…

Okay, so sue me.
