Pressed into manual labor at the point of a gun, and by a squinty-eyed bad guy with stubble to boot!, we all knew that the RFOJ will not be derelict in its duty.

That’s what I thought when I saw Sunday’s Mark Trail! I was stunned! Then delighted! Mark Trail was showcasing the mysterious GIANT ISOPOD in all its glory for the second time in 11 years! I remember the first strip, in 2008, with the mighty isopod front and center! So majestic! So glorious! So…so…
…so not there. Apparently, I was in a giant isopod phase at the time (I think a few other CC folks were as all), and I absconded with Mark’s usual Sunday format to do my own topic on the Beast from 20,000 Fathoms.
I’m not quite shamefaced, because I think the giant isopod should be celebrated at least once every decade. Well, maybe once every fourscore.
They go back a long time, anyway.
And here’s the “original” giant isopod extravaganza. Enjoy Nature! Especially giant isopods!
Mr. bats :[ suggested this! I am so proud of him!
Can no one…not Mark, not notCherry, certainly not feeble ol’ Doc, not bighorn sheep, not even Mexican grey wolves (los lobos gris Mexicano)…stop to JJ’s villainy?!??
…with all the little animals rallying to his side. Except Snow White doesn’t have the Fists of Justice, like Mark has. I think
Unfortunately, some species just aren’t the trustworthy type (they really do mean well, but, you know…):
Oh, come on! Does Mark Trail ever ask that much of us? (Then again, do we ever ask that much of him?):
…but I am so impressed by all the keen stuff that goes on in Mark Trail (okay, by far the critters). It’s almost like gilding the lily (I know I’ve used that somewhere else)…
And I’m still impressed!
…yada. yada. yada.
Okay, so we have a little disappointment here (or not, depending on your opinion of little old what’s his name). OTOH, who can argue with this?
Or my basement! Or something…
…and other folks can use a nosh!
