Snark It Up, FuzzBall!

(Not to be confused with All Souls’ Day on November 2, which is sorta like a religious Festivus, for the Rest of Us.)

Time to reach into the old comic strip stash and come up with a Mass card for the Comics Hagiography:

I guess one of these days I’ll have to come up with a male saint.  Suggestions are cheerfully entertained (and no, Sam Driver, Mark Trail, and Rex Morgan cannot be considered “virgin saints.”  No.).

…a Comic Strip Panel, Completely Out of Context:

Blood and guts! Salt water spray and fresh sea air! There’s some nattering going on about the possibility of a keel being torn from a sailboat (mr. bats :[ says it’s possible) and other stuff about sailing, but heck, all I know is that I’m finding the Turkey Shoot Regatta race a thrill-a-minute.  Mostly because Tweaks is apparently having one non-stop seizure at the helm. YARRRR!

The excitement continues!

(I almost resisted doing anything with this — Rex’s reaction is just so perfect, and uncommonly real for him.  Still, my first thought after Lenore telling him to get ready to jump was the possibility that he couldn’t swim.)

(Wouldn’t it be easier if they were called “Halloweens,” like Valentine cards are call “Valentines”? Eh, I dunno.)

I don’t know if I’ll do one with our two cats Hoho and Tobu (putting them together on a card is probably the only safe way of getting them together), so in the meantime here’s Count Morgu and ‘Count Catula’:

The innocent question of “What’s Mary seeing in the clouds?” just turned into an attendant boozefest and cross-country hallucination for Mrs. Worth.  I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.

I like to think of Sam Driver not as a bi/gay/asexual being, but rather a man with his passions under unbelievably tight control.  This might help him in his professional life, but occasionally something just has to give…

Action, not only in Rex Morgan, but in Judge Parker, too!  I wasn’t too thrilled at the prospect of having to do a mashup of Mary Worth being strip-searched at the airport…

Let’s see, Rex…wowee! Things are definitely developing! Lenore’s mastery of her ship and years of sailing prowess are coming to the forefront, and you better be ready to deliver!

I hate being held hostage by Mary and her culinary disasters, but Rex is just floating around in a boat!  I demand that

• Rex is immediately, violently ill all over Lenore; or
• the sailboat is boarded by Somali pirates; or
• someone sees a great white whale  (Ian Cameron will do in a pinch).

Failing that, I am forced to snark Mrs. Worth.  The horror.  The horror.

Another day, another failure to deliver by Rex. Or Sam Driver. Or Mark.

Mary comes through again, like an avenging angel.

Wow, that shadow really has Mary cowed!  The mysterious, the vague — they all contribute to a sense of foreboding (well, except for The Phantom, who might be a little more menacing aside from his penchant for wearing purple leotards). I’m sure there’s a reasonable explanation for That Shadow, though…

Duh-duh-DUHHHH!!!!

Actually, I love the idea of something managing to catch the omniscient Mary off-guard…and no one would suspect Mooncattie.
