In with the more old! Brookins is retiring, and he isn’t leaving the strip to his son/daughter/newly-adopted Vietnamese orphan! Yay for that!
Wish I’d known that a little sooner — teaches me that this is what happens when I don’t read Pluggers every damned day!

And yet, even more of the old (I’m a plugger, a doctor told me I didn’t need a routine exam for X anymore!):

And, really, who cares? Huh?

…it’s not that Jeffy or Dolly or Billy are experiencing deep emotional growth and upheaval…they’re just assorted pains in the butt.

Oh, Jeffy, you have a lot to learn — like modern slang.

On the other hand, Billy is beginning to figure out how to solve problems! Good for you!

And PJ is NOT getting off easy this week…Billy and Dolly better be going back to school soon!

Well, I hardly remember her, or her blank family either. But the strangely-drawn Pru, who’s been living in the De Groot house!, is leaving. I might feel a touch sorry about this, but when you really don’t care…

…or maybe Hugo called her. Anyway, I succumbed to the screechy siren call of the she-Weston.

And then they talk…

And then they talk some more…

Dawn has put on her big-girl panties and is telling Jared about upcoming events.
Jared just messed himself.

Hugo Frenchie, here I come!

And in spite of Jared’s cranial viscosity, there are occasion bright spots. Well, at least to a turnip like Dawn.

Maybe it was Rusty’s trusty ol’ alarm clock that’s roused Mark. I’d like to think that Mark just wishes he were back in Nepal, snapping photos of rare, amazing creatures, and far away from weird local orphaned homoculi…

Grow up!
Get out!
Whatever!

Can we get a new story…without a Weston…please?

When all the Melonheads are “sheltering in place,” an occasional boo-boo is bound to happen. And why bother running to the doctor/Urgent Care/Emergency Room when Mommy and her trusty box o’ cotton balls are right there?

Meanwhile, Billy has doubts about Mommy’s intuitive skills.

Fortunately, Jeffy, being a comic character, never stays dead for long…well, until Big Daddy ultimately gets his hands on the little squid. In the meantime, there’s always Thel.

Dawn is back at Mary’s, opening her heart to her. I like to think, in spite of the endless Botox treatments, Mary knows that her time on earth is limited, and she’s decided not to waste it on idiots and their problems (i.e., Dawn and her romances).

Why does it seem that I’m also doing the artwork for MW? It’s not like Moy is writing the next War and Peace, or letting Mary and Dawn spout a couple of Shakespearean sonnets.

…not literally, like Mark. Or Cherry. Or Andy. Maybe Rusty.

Meanwhile, it’s back to the daily grind, with Mark and Rusty spending a hiking trip with a guy who wants to help orphans, a random orphan or two, a family who might be interested in getting an orphan, and a son who is just fine without adding orphans to the mix.

I don’t know if Rusty was an orphan, or just a neglected child, but if anything, he developed a keen sense of pragmatism.

…not that Scoopy wants to interfere. (But that kitty is so gosh-darn cute!)

(And this was the inspiration…)
