It doesn’t get much better when you can just superimpose one element of one comic into one panel of another…
Baldo (yeah, I don’t read it either) has been doing fairly regular PSAs for diabetes prevention and control: Papi (Baldo’s grandfather, I think) has it, and his granddaughter keeps offering him helpful advice.
One tidbit was to laugh and keep in good humor, and so Granddaughter invited over some of the “funny neighbors”: Ziggy, Hagar the Horrible, Jason Fox, Lio and his squid Ishmael, Broomhilda, Herb (or Jamaal).
Oh, the potential laff-riot there.
(Dean Booth’s take ( http://comicbooth.com/blogengine.net/post/Funny-Is-As-Funny-Does.aspx ) was to invite a better calibre of neighbor: Lio, Ishmael and Jason made the cut, but they were joined by Rat, Agnes and Alice Outerloop. Definitely a better party…)
Still, the whole Exercise Thing is really stressed in diabetes management, so I figured Papi needed some of that, too:

Still, there’s enough of the little rascals for everyone. Bob Weber, Jr. even had a lesson for drawing a raccoon with its lunch. Okay, Bob gave his raccoon a nice fish, but raccoons are omnivorous and pretty darned cosmopolitan in their tastes:
Fish may be good, but nothing beats a good stink bug.

For three days in early November, the comic strip Zits decided to parody the comic strip love is… . Now, to my way of thinking, Zits isn’t that funny, and love is… has never been funny, but maybe a blend of the two would make the sum greater than its parts.
It’s called heterosis, or “hybrid vigor” in genetics and plant and animal breeding.
Heterosis apparently does not exist in the comics world, although at least one newspaper in Illinois refused to run the second and third “love isn’t…” strips after getting complaints about the first one. (That’s pretty funny!)
Anyway, maybe a Zits x love is… cross just wasn’t the right mix. I hope Gregor Mendel would be pleased with this:
What a difference a space makes! Then again, maybe next time Mark and Cherry adopt, it’ll be a puppy or a kitten rather than a space alien little boy like Rusty.
I figured that some of those very spiffy tigers drawings from “Big Top Tracy” needed to show up in a place where spiffy wildlife drawing are appreciated…
Even if you’re a Total Fan of Mary Worth and Her Platitudes, the last week has been quite a slog. I thought a bit of a respite from the Monday through Saturday strips was in order:
