In the 14 June edition of The Phantom, Diana (Woman Who Is Wrongfully Incarcerated) bemoans the fact that Kit (Ghost Who Walks, aka Bummed-Out Husband) has forgotten about her, and that everyone assumes she was killed in the terrorist attack orchestrated by Chatu (Villain With Many Tats).

A short day late (15 June), Diana (Woman Who Has Been Out in the Sun Too Long) rhapsodizes about Kit (Big Purple Goober) is in fact still on the hunt for bad guys:

By strange coincidence, life imitates (comic) art.  At 9 Chickweed Lane, Edie and Herr Kiester have discovered that Bill is alive:

Currently over in Morganville, Cousins June and Brooke have located the thugs who mugged Brooke and are merrily giving chase.

Meanwhile:

(I did this mostly because a recent pet peeve of mine is the artists of serial strips like Rex Morgan and Judge Parker are bedewing the luscious lips of their young female characters with things that don’t so much look like sultry spots of shiny lip-gloss as they do canker sores.  Suddenly Mary Worth is looking pretty hot by comparison.)

I think that many of the serial comics move too slowly, and the suspense is drawn out for too long.  Yes, suspense can add a lot to a plot, but a number of these plots are thin at best, and “suspense” only allow the mind (well, my mind) to wander…

Oh, yeah, my point:  when Aristotle Popitinpotitoutalot receives a phone call, who knows who or what might be on the other end?  Coy comments really don’t help:

It seems one storyline is ending and another is beginning in Mary Worth.  Unfortunately, this has garnered a week-long vamp as we all wait in breathless anticipation of Who’s Meddled Next?
