Who knew that predatory fish from Mark Trail, when not lying in wait for helpless ducklings, menace the fine residents of NYC?

Lisa’s demise was handled well. Everything around it, less so. I have to admit that I’m pleased with the quiet serenity of Lio being there; funny how he shows up at the right time. And I liked playing around with the Day of the Dead — Gus Arriola did that very well.

What are the odds that tongues were such a significant topic on the same day in different strips? What are the odds that I wouldn’t capitalize on that fact?

Hey, it’s April! You know…the third kid, the “mistake,” the most likely to succeed, the most likely to escape Milborough? Nice to see that she still lives and breathes, in spite of attempts made to the contrary.

WHAT?!? Rex and Niki are actually fishing? For a while there, I thought Rex was just going to circle the city park until Niki got tired from looking at all of the trees. Still, they’re in the water up to their keesters — FISH ON!

If you’ve just put your Christmas tree out on the curb, I don’t want to scare you. This is my only Nancy work, and I only did it because I like how Aunt Fritzi is portrayed these days (Nancy and Sluggo still look like warts, but that’s part of the charm, I guess). There’s a bunch of cameos here: who wouldn’t want to fill Fritzi’s Christmas stocking, after all?

A tip of the nightcap to UncleJeff from CC for the suggestion and the visions of sweaterpuppies!
