And we’re just getting started….

And while we’re hanging around the ol’ fishing hole, Geoff lets folks know that he was an orphan, and he spends his time improving the lives of other orphans. What a noble endeavor! (The drawing still looks weird, though.)

The hikers make camp, and it’s suddenly deja vu all over again! (Thank you, Mr. Berra)

Who knew that such a scandalous individual might present himself to Dawn…in the same sleepy burg?

So, our relentless, week-long slog is capped by…a RELENTLESS SUNDAY RERUN!

Sputum? Cream of Wheat?

And like we care if Jeff Keane or a hapless chimpanzee actually draws and offers the laffs in Family Circus:

Big Daddy’s MIA for two weeks, and Billy was forced into indentured servitude. Yeah, like anyone cared!

Wow, new adventures with young Dawn Weston! Is it any wonder that Mary’s been MIA, and otherwise having to listen to Dawn’s exciting community college antics? It makes you feel almost sorry for the old busybody.

But not quite.

(And I think “immersed in school” is code for Dawn’s majoring in Underwater Basket-Weaving…)

And to think that I’m actually cheering on Mary!

Dawn and Jared discoever that they have SO MANY things in common!

So. Somewhere in the Himalayas, Dr. “HA HAW” Harvey got swept away in an avalanche. Mark cut his losses and headed home to Lost Forest. (No kidding, the trek was abandoned, and he went home. I can’t really blame him.) No Yeti was ever found, or seen, but Mark got to see some cool critters.

There’s not much to add about this whole disappointing storyline, but at least we have Lost Forest…

At least Mark can put on a happy face and teach us all a little about the Natural World AND the rare Savannah Walrus!

And just because Mark is back with his family in Lost Forest, it doesn’t mean that exciting things AREN’T going on there!

When Big Daddy Bil sneaks out on a weekend afternoon, Mommy Thel is left at home, not only with the melonheads:

but also with her judgmental lady visitors:

(That saguaro picture is particularly confusing, too.)

Because “OK, Boomer” is just a lazy-ass comment. At least try to make it a little creative…

…Dawn and Wilbutt are still nattering at one another! At least they have the decency to contain it in their condo, as opposed to the scrupulously maintained, beautiful surroundings of Charterstone…where NOBODY CARES!

So it’s Valentine’s Day (even in Santa Royale, I suspect), and Dawn sends Wilbutt on his merry way:

And then the feckless adult daughter invokes the Dark Spirits of Charterstone itself!

NEW ADVENTURE! (yeah. right.)

…the Plugger was ordering a pizza. And garlic bread. And Diet Coke. Using his landline phone (yes, the one you see here)…

I’ll admit that I got some amount of commentary for the above strip being very, very dark (I really didn’t expect that at all…maybe because I think of CC readers as being fairly dark anyway).
I’m hoping that this one is more palatable. There’s not really much to make of it, other than I think Claude Cat is seriously underused, and I want to make sure he can shine a little.

And, yes, I have succumbed to the occasional bargain, and spent a long time looking for a restroom.
